Infosecwriters.com respects your privacy. This privacy statement is to explicitly declare that any and all personal information we collect will be kept strictly confidential and will not be sold, leased, traded or anyway disclosed, unless disclosure is required by law.

In this statement, we explain:

  • What (personally identifiable) information of yours or a third party can and will be gathered, stored, tracked or used. 
  • How we use this information.
  • What preventative choices are available to you with regard to our collecting of information, e.g. cookie deactivation.
  • With whom aggregated demographic information may be shared.

1. Cookies: Cookies are unique text files that websites can send to your browser software. Cookies are used to remember your preferences and maximize performance of our services (for instance, to offer the convenience of not having to login more than once to the forums). These cookies do not store or maintain, personally, identifiable information. You can set your browser to reject cookies or to notify you when a Web site tries to put a cookie in your browser software. Rejecting cookies may affect the performance of certain services.


2. Website Logging System: We maintain log files of the traffic that visits the site. We use logs to analyse trends, track user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. These website logs are not personally identifiable, and we make no attempt to link them with you, the individual that actually browse the site. 


3. Polls: Polls are featured on the main page. Such polls are for aggregate purposes and are not correlated with any personal information. You remain completely anonymous when you vote.


4. Mailing List Subscription: We offer the option to subscribe to our mailing list. Information sent to your inbox usually pertains to significant updates to our site or projects & content. The only piece of information required is your e-mail address. When submitted (through the main page's subscription box) your e-mail address is validated by a confirmation process prior to activating your subscription.

Your e-mail address is used ONLY for purposes described above. We will NOT attempt to sell, rent, trade or in anyway disclose your e-mail address/our e-mail list to ANY third parties. You are also given the option to cancel your subscription to at any time.


5. Forums: Infosecwriters requires users who want to participate in the bulletin boards to register. In order to register, you must provide us with a username (which does not have to be your real name), password and a valid e-mail address. This allows us to protect our community from abusive postings and provides a verifiable point of contact should legal questions arise. At any time, you have the ability to keep your e-mail address hidden from other users by selecting that option within your user profile.

When you register, you have the option of providing some additional information such as occupation, interests, and homepage URL. This optional information is made available to other bulletin or message board users to foster a sense of community. If you have any concerns about providing this information, simply leave the fields blank and your registration will still be processed.


6. Links: This Web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage you, when entering these sites to read their privacy statements.


7. Contacts: When contacting the administrators of the site, your mail will be kept discreetly and in no way forwarded/distributed to any other than an administrator. None of the information you submit is displayed online via forums or in any other forms of disclosure.


8. Information We Share: For promotional or affiliating purposes, visitor information is statistically aggregated via the automated website logging system then issued. These statistics do not contain any personal information that could be used to identify you.


Notification Of Changes:

As Infosecwriters.com is constantly developing new projects and adding new services, this Privacy Statement will also continue to change to match such. If we make any material change to this statement, we will change the date at the top of this statement to reflect the effective date of the change. When you visit our site we encourage you to check the date of this Privacy Statement to ensure you are aware of any updates.
